In consultation with existing PlansXpress users we have made speed and performance the main focus of our new release - but of course we didn't stop there!
AMAZING speed improvements in key areas
The importing and exporting of a DXF/DWG is now faster and speed trials undertaken by HBXL's developers revealed the following stats:
NEW cross sections
Create a complete cross section through the building top to bottom, to show foundations, DPC level, footings and markers for ground level, doors, windows, floors and roof.
NEW sections for timber frame/SIPs/ICF
Given there are different ways of constructing ICF, SIPs and timber frame walls, how useful would it be to be able to show a cut-through section of this particular building element on your drawings?
NEW Estimate cladding from your drawing!*
Simply select cladding from the drawing tool menu, click on the wall you've already drawn and PlansXpress will apply the additional treatment.
It also gives you a text label to place next to the wall to show you which type of wall you have applied.
*Plus, if you're an EstimatorXpress user, when you import the job into the estimating software it will automatically estimate your chosen cladding.
NEW improved hatching
Hatching - whether it's turfing, tiling or block-paving - is better than ever before. Whereas previously the feature slowed the software down for some users - now PlansXpress handles it with ease. At the same time we've improved the handling of specification notes and hatched elevations again making the software faster.
NEW - includes PlansXpress ScanPack as standard
The ScanPack for PlansXpress enables you to price up work from existing plans. Simply import a scanned image of the plans into PlansXpress (or import a file from AutoCad) and use the ScanPack drawing tools to trace over the walls and place your windows, doors and other construction symbols, to cost up the drawing and produce elevations, 3D visualisations or simply add an extension.
NEW scan improvements
Now you can easily swap between the original drawing and your ScanPack tracing. So no more thick red lines effecting your view of the original. Plus you can also quickly turn on/off different parts of the trace to show just the roof or just walls for example.
NEW responsiveness
Generally more responsive, for example zooming in and out is snappier - especially on more complex drawings.
NEW styling in dimensions
You can now format your dimensions to be plottable or non-plottable. Why? If you have lots of dimensions you might not want all of them visible on the drawing. You can also save the dimensions as templates for future drawings.
PLUS...
We've fixed the glitches such as the triangulation issues in walls and roofs, and how roof dormers are handled.
