E-learning courses keep builders safe on site

Builders wanting to stay one step ahead on all things relating to site health and safety can make the most of a new, online e-learning scheme that will not only help them comply with the latest regulations but save them hundreds of pounds in the process.

Accredited by both The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) and the Independent Asbestos Training Providers (IATP), the one-on-one, tutor led e-learning courses help builders with everything they need to know, making sure their business and employees stay safe.

Launched by HBXL, the UK’s leading developer of building software, the programmes will enable users to study online at their own pace from anywhere with an internet connection.

It means they can fit them in at any time of the day meaning no time off site and loss of productivity. In addition, it avoids builders having to attend expensive health and safety courses, which not only costs money but means additional time off site.

Meeting all statutory training requirements, once complete, users receive a certificate as evidence of their competence. These are automatically generated by the system when a course is finished.

Joanna Mulgrew, Marketing & Product Development Director at HBXL said: “This is an easy and cost effective way to stay on top of health and safety obligations.

“We completely empathise with builders who perhaps think that keeping up to date with their health and safety obligations impacts too much on their day-to-day work load.

“However, non-compliance is not open to negotiation, so builders have to keep up to speed. This new online e-learning service is not only cost effective, but saves a lot of time.

“The courses cover many aspects of construction and site safety including working at height, manual handling and asbestos awareness.”

Courses include Manual Handling at £25 +VAT, Working at Height at £25 +VAT and Asbestos Awareness (category A), also at £25 +VAT.

Joanna added: “Health and safety has always been at the forefront of HBXL’s support programme for builders and it’s never been more important.

“Small site inspections are increasing all the time, so it’s crucial to be on top of site safety and paperwork to avoid fines, fees and injuries.

“This online e-learning is an excellent addition to the support service we already give builders and is something they should consider in order to maintain the correct level of compliance.”
