Latest health and safety software for builders now available

The latest version of HBXL’s health and safety software is now out.

Version 5 of the award-winning software, which is called Health & Safety Xpert, is now helping small to medium-sized building firms across the UK get to grips with the latest rules and regulations on all things related to site health and safety.

With the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) stepping up its Fee For Intervention initiative by targeting £23million worth of fines during the current financial year, builders wanting to stay on the right side of the law are being advised to take a look at this latest version of the software.

With 39 fatal injuries to workers in the construction sector alone in 2012 / 2013, the need to comply with the latest regulations to make sure that building sites are safe from the outset is of paramount concern with the HSE.

And as the sector starts to enjoy a bit of a boom following the recession, HBXL Sales & Marketing Director Joanna Mulgrew said the latest version of the software is ideal to ensure safety on site as building firms take advantage of the upturn.

She said: “Anyone working on any building site should look out for hazards and take time to control the risks as best they can. Health & Safety Xpert goes a long way to help manage such risks and reduce the number of accidents.

“Our software helps ensure building firms, large and small, comply with all required regulations. There is virtually no typing required, saving huge amounts of time that would otherwise be spent sorting out the paperwork.”

Release of the software also coincides with the 40th anniversary of the Health & Safety at Work Act.

Providing a new regulatory framework for work place health and safety in Great Britain, it has helped make Britain one of the safest places in the world to work, saving thousands of lives, preventing many more injuries at work and reducing the economic and social costs of health and safety failures.

Joanna is now urging builders to take on the legacy of the first forty years by using this latest software.

She added: “It seems appropriate that the latest version of Health & Safety Xpert has been released to coincide with this anniversary. The act has really helped improve site safety but we can’t rest on our laurels.

“Making the most of software packages like Health & Safety Xpert will enable builders to keep pace with ever stricter compliance requirements and it’s infinitely cheaper than a fine and more importantly helps prevent those working on site getting injured.”

Adding to its comprehensive library of forms and paperwork, the latest version of the software includes substantial changes to assessments relating to the tighter control of substances hazardous to health, 63 amended risk assessments along with nine new ones covering additional areas of scaffold cranes, piling operations and migrant workers.

It quickly guides builders through the crucial paper work that’s required under current UK law, including the Health & Safety At Work Act 1974 and Construction Design Management (CDM) Regulations.
